Beltane is a scant four weeks away, excitement is building, away weekends are happening, costumes are being made… and as ever, we still need more Stewards!
If you have any friends who have been considering possibly maybe being involved with Beltane some time, please encourage them to join the Stewards now!
Stewarding is a great introduction to the society as well as a great way for old members to stay involved!

More Stewarding Information:
The *minimum* requirement for being a steward at the Beltane Fire Festival is:
# Attendance at the Health and Safety briefing on Sat 23rd April (if you absolutely cannot make this, please let the organisers know ASAP and they'll try to sort something out)
# Attendance at *at least one* (although two would be better) of the all-performer walkthroughs on Sun 17 or 24 April or on the day
# Availability to have suitable clothes fireproofed at least 24 hours beforehand. We'll need to arrange dates for this
To re-emphasise: the above is the minimum requirement, aimed at people who have stewarded before at a BFS event.
If you've not stewarded or carried a torch before, in addition we need you to have attended:
# at least a couple of our sessions on the Hill and/or
# a fast track day and/or
# the away weekend on the 8th-10th of April
(if you've stewarded before, just not at a BFS event, please talk to Tom Watton – you'll probably need to attend at least some training though if only so that we can share experience and ideas on good practice)

please can you please advise I would like to be a part of the beltane volunteer stewarding team on the 30th april 2011 I am a mature man of 56 and have had various situations in my life being a part off and supporting large community led celibrations throughout scotland over the years. I have most reacently been involved in my pasion of social heritage / history photo documentation i would be happy to take on a photo documentary role for the beltain if you requier this suppory
