On Tuesday April 29th, from 12 noon to 3pm, we invite all Beltaners, and anyone who loves Calton Hill, to come together with the Pillywiggins for a special Blessing and Rewilding event. This is an opportunity to plant seeds of renewal and encourage the growth of new life in this iconic space.

In keeping with the May Queen’s theme of rewilding, we’ll scatter and rake native seeds provided by Edinburgh Council, in alignment with Calton Hill’s natural ecosystem. This collaborative act invites everyone, whether performer or spectator, to participate.

After the seeding, on Beltane night, we’ll press the seeds firmly into the soil, sealing them with our collective energy. Then, as the seasons change, we’ll watch the grass grow and rewild the spaces on the right side of the Monument and the hill’s edge, creating a lasting legacy of our community’s care and connection.
