Formed in 1988, Beltane Fire Society is a community arts performance charity that hosts the Beltane Fire Festival and Samhuinn Fire Festival in Edinburgh.

On Saturday 31st October 2026, Edinburgh’s Calton Hill will blaze with fire, drums and otherworldly performance as Samhuinn Fire Festival marks the dramatic death of Summer and arrival of Winter.
Hundreds of performers will transform one of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks for a spectacular celebration of Scotland’s Celtic heritage, bringing together fire-play, drumming, acrobatics, dance, immersive performance and elaborate costumes on Halloween night.
On Saturday 5th September, come to Broughton St Mary’s on Bellevue Crescent for the Samhuinn 2026 open meeting! Get involved with the Samhuinn Fire Festival on the 31st October on Calton Hill.
