Beltane 2015 Open Meeting, 3-5pm on Sunday 22nd February.
Main Hall, Abbeymount Centre, 2-4 Abbey Mount, Edinburgh (see a map)
Please arrive as close as 3pm as possible as the Centre will only be opened shortly beforehand and doors will be closed once the meeting begins.
Calling all drummers, dancers, actors, musicians, acrobats, story tellers, fire spinners, techies, artists, sculptors, crafters, costume makers, cake-baking lovelies, flashy photographers, film makers and all-round epic people with a desire to be part of a world-famous festival event, bringing an exciting modern twist to Celtic traditions!
Yes, it’s Beltane time again and we’d like to invite YOU to come along and get involved in creating our amazing public ritual celebration of the beginning of Summer.
The Open Meeting is an opportunity to hear about the performance and production groups available to join, meet the organisers and Court characters, and learn a bit more about the festival itself. Whether you’re a long-time BFS member, a seasoned performer or just want to come along for the first time and take part, Beltane Fire Festival offers an awesome opportunity to learn new skills, make fabulous friends and be part of a truly unique experience. Everyone is welcome!
You’re welcome to register your attendance on our Facebook event page.
Accessibility
Please note that whilst the Abbeymount Centre itself is wheelchair accessible, the Main Hall is not as it is up two flights of stairs. We will be in the Regent pub just next door, which IS wheelchair accessible, immediately after the Open Meeting. Information about the groups, and contact details for organisers, will be online prior to the Open Meeting so wheelchair users are welcome to get in touch by email in advance, either with the Group Organisers themselves or with the Festival Secretary via festival@beltane.org, to arrange to meet up for a chat in the Regent.
