We’re in love with our new poster for this year’s Beltane Fire Festival 2019. A huge thank you to Natalia Zoń for capturing our lovely volunteers, whose hard work makes the creative backbone of all our festivals. Read more about Natalia and her design concept below, and be sure to look out for her poster going up all over Edinburgh in the coming weeks!
I’ve been a member of BFS since Beltane 2016. To me, the great thing about Beltane is the process of preparing for it, rather than the event itself – meeting new people and spending two months creating something new and exciting together. In the poster design I wanted to show that behind all of the colourful characters appearing in the performance, there are the numerous volunteers who put their time and energy into bringing those characters to life – each adding their own bit to the magic that happens on the hill on Beltane night.
In my day job I’m a software engineer, but I spend a lot of my free time doing art.
My main thing has been portraiture from life using acrylics, but I have recently taken interest in illustration and design.

Hi, Beltane Fire is a magical and spiritual Celtic art. Alexandre
