CONTACT POINT recruiting photographers and chatter-ers!

Contact Point is like Beltane’s own PR agency, tourist information board and photo squad all rolled into one and wrapped in a big package of technology and happiness on the hill! One of the first groups to spring into action on the evening of the festival, we help the audience find out what’s happening where and when through the power of conversation and useful hand-out leaflets and maps.

If you’re not a performer or you’ve never taken part in Beltane before and would like a unique introduction to the experience, Contact Point is worth considering. Providing you’re happy to natter to lots of people and embrace the community spirit of the event, you’ll be welcome. Once the bulk of our work is done, we’ll join the procession to witness the action at the stage and head to the Bower with everyone else for dancing and munchies at the end of the night.

Our photographers have access all areas and work together in the midst of the excitement to capture the essence of the event and all the epic action from every angle. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to join us – we welcome shutterbugs of all experience levels. An enthusiasm for taking awesome pictures and willingness to learn and work together is what you need!

Together, we provide the fuel for BFS’s vibrant and dynamic social media presence, including live uploads from Contact Point HQ (our green techie tent) on the night. If you like Facebooking, Tweeting, Tumbling and other such fabulous internetty things, we’d like to meet you.

The whole group meets on Saturday afternoons (great if you don’t have a lot of time to spare) with an additional Thursday evening meeting for photographers. Our first get-together is this Saturday (2nd March) at 3pm on the 5th Floor Common Room at Arts Complex, Edinburgh. If you’d like to find out more or are interested in joining us, please come along and say hi!

You can get in touch in advance if you like by emailing contact@beltane.org (Tanya and Zander, chatter-ers) or photopoint@beltane.org (Dan, photographers).
