Stewards are the friendly human face of the Beltane Fire Festival and they’d like to invite you to join them! If you want to take part in the festival but don’t have a huge amount of time or aren’t into performance, Stewarding could be the perfect place for you. This Sunday, they’ll be meeting by the cannon on Calton Hill at 2pm for fire safety training (putting out tiny fires with blankets!), health and safety briefing, a walk around the processional route and games with the Torchbearers. The meeting will run until about 4.30pm and it’s likely that a trip to the pub will be happening afterwards.
You’re welcome to just show up or you can get in touch with Group Organisers Lizzie and Dan in advance by email at stewards[at]beltane[dot]org. If you have partners, friends, family members or flatmates who would like to get involved in the festival, feel free to pass this information along to them.
