Calling all drummers, dancers, clowns, musicians, acrobats, fire spinners, puppeteers, engineers, techies, artists, poets, crafters, costumiers, photographers, film-makers, event stewards and all-round epic people with a desire to be part of a world-famous festival, bringing an exciting and fiery modern twist to Celtic traditions!
If you see yourself in this list, or you’d like to, we invite YOU to get involved in our glorious Beltane Fire Festival on the 30th April 2022!
Help create our amazing public ritual celebration of the beginning of Summer, alongside hundreds of other volunteers and an audience of thousands atop Calton Hill, overlooking the stunning city of Edinburgh. Anyone with an interest in helping to create the festival is invited to come along and find out more.
Whether you’re a long-time BFS member, a seasoned performer, or you want to come along for the first time and give something new a go, Beltane Fire Festival offers an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends, and be part of a truly unique collaborative experience with a warm and welcoming community.
WHY COME TO THIS OPEN MEETING?
We’ll break the festival down for you so you can learn about the performance and production groups you might want to join, talk to the organisers, get to know the story behind Beltane, and sign up to take part.
If you can’t make it but would still like to be involved, details of all performance and production groups (including contact information for the organisers) will be posted at beltane.org shortly before the Open Meeting. You can email the individual organisers to let them know you’d like to be considered for their group if you can’t sign up in person.
The Biscuit Factory is wheelchair accessible on all four floors by elevator. We will be on the top floor. There is a disabled parking space for disabled visitors to The Biscuit Factory located in their car park.
There are bus stops nearby, where the 10 and 36 buses stop, and the venue is a short walk (0.4 miles) from Great Junction Street, where the 7, 14, 21, 34, 36 and 42 buses stop.
If you have any questions about the venue, open meeting, or anything else about this year’s Beltane, talk to us by emailing us at volunteers[dot]beltane[dot]org.
