Calling all drummers, dancers, actors, musicians, acrobats, fire performers, techies, artists, sculptors, crafters, costumers, photographers, film-makers, event stewards and all-round epic people with a desire to be part of a world-famous festival event, bringing an exciting modern twist to Celtic traditions…
Yes, it’s Samhuinn time again and we’d like to invite YOU to come along and get involved in creating our amazing public ritual celebration of the turning of seasons from Summer to Winter in the atmospheric and beautiful centre of Edinburgh.
Whether you’re a long-time BFS member, a seasoned performer or want to come along for the first time and take part, Samhuinn Fire Festival offers an awesome opportunity to learn new skills, make fabulous friends and be part of a truly unique experience. Everyone is welcome!
Come to the Samhuinn 2013 Open Meeting at 3pm on Sunday 1st September in room G25 (ground floor) Arts Complex, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE to find out about the performance, tech and support groups, meet the organisers and join us at the beginning of this fantastic journey.
See you there 🙂
You can register your attendance on the Facebook Event.
Following the Open Meeting it is tradition to move to the Regent Bar to eat, drink and be merry. Unfortunately this year the Open Meeting clashes with the Fireworks at the end of the Edinburgh Festival. As such, not only will the Regent’s kitchen be shut, they are likely to be standing room only. Our suggestion would be that people wanting to continue their evening grab some food and head up Calton Hill for a prime Firework viewing spot.
